Connect Kraken Pro to Your Ledger
Bring Kraken Pro accounts, balances, orders, and conversions into your ledger for exchange reconciliation.
The new Kraken Pro connector brings accounts, balances, orders, and conversions into Formance for exchange reconciliation.
Teams trading or holding assets on Kraken Pro are running two records of the truth: whatever the ledger says, and whatever Kraken Pro says. Reconciling the two usually means exporting a CSV of fills and conversions, matching it line by line against internal records, and repeating that every cycle as order volume grows. It works, until it doesn't scale, and until someone asks for an audit trail that spans both systems at once.
The Kraken Pro connector brings exchange data into Formance through a common data model and API. Teams can access Kraken records alongside data from other connected providers and use them in their reconciliation workflows. It syncs account, balance, order, and conversion data from Kraken directly, so exchange activity lives next to bank transfers, custody balances, and internal movements in the same place.
The first version of the Kraken Pro connector is read-only. Placing orders for trades and conversions is on our roadmap.
Assets on an exchange are a counterparty position, not a custody position: what a team sees in the Kraken Pro interface is a record of what Kraken owes them, not assets sitting in their own wallet. Reconciling that exposure continuously, rather than during a periodic manual export, means a team has an ongoing, auditable answer to "what do we actually hold on Kraken right now" at any point, not just at month-end close.
It also means crypto and fiat stop living in separate mental models. Formance keeps a Kraken Pro balance in ETH as a typed value with its own precision (ETH/18), sitting next to a USD/2 balance from a bank connector, with no conversion to a base currency and no rounding loss in between. A trading desk's exchange activity and a treasury team's fiat operations reconcile against the same ledger, not two.
Kraken Pro joins Fireblocks and Coinbase Prime as digital asset connectors inside Formance's Connectivity module. Teams already syncing one of those can add Kraken Pro without restructuring how their ledger is organized.
The Kraken Pro Connector is available as part of Formance's Connectivity module. Setup takes an API key generated with read permissions in Kraken Pro's account settings, added to Formance's connector configuration together with IP whitelisting on your Kraken instance.
