Our newest integration brings direct bank connectivity to the 2,000+ European banks, enabling automated reconciliation and real-time financial data synchronization for sophisticated financial applications

NewsConnectivityProduct

Today we’re announcing a strategic partnership with Powens, Europe’s leading open banking infrastructure provider. This collaboration brings comprehensive bank connectivity to Formance customers, connecting the programmable ledger directly to over 2,000 banks across Europe and beyond through Powens’s robust open banking infrastructure.

The partnership addresses a critical challenge facing modern financial applications: maintaining a unified system of record that reflects real-world banking activity. Through Formance’s Powens Connector, customers can now synchronize transactions from traditional bank accounts directly into their programmable ledger, enabling automated reconciliation and real-time visibility across their entire financial infrastructure.

By connecting Powens’s bank coverage directly into our programmable ledger, every transaction is instantly mirrored and reconciled in Formance, giving customers clean, real‑time banking data they can trust.

— Clément Salaün, CTO and co-founder at Formance.

Formance’s programmable ledger is a natural extension of what we enable with Open Banking. By embedding Powens’s bank connectivity directly into their ledger infrastructure, we’re helping fintechs and financial teams close the gap between bank reality and internal systems—automating reconciliation, improving data reliability, and enabling real-time financial operations at scale.

— Nicolas Ribeaut, CRO at Powens

Customers with existing Powens contracts can leverage the Powens Connector to connect Formance directly to their Powens account, enabling immediate access to banking data within their ledger. The Connector unlocks automated transaction synchronization, real-time reconciliation, and programmable transaction flows that can be defined using Formance’s declarative financial programming language, Numscript.

Built for Sophisticated Financial Operations

The partnership enables use cases that previously required extensive custom integration work:

  • Omnibus Account Management: Companies operating omnibus accounts across one or more banks can now maintain a unified ledger that automatically reconciles with real banking activity.
  • Multi-Provider Reconciliation: Financial applications working with multiple payment providers, digital asset custodians, and traditional banks can reconcile all activity in a single system of record.
  • Real-Time Treasury Operations: Corporate treasury teams can track funds across bank accounts in real-time, with automatic reconciliation eliminating manual processes.
This is about giving finance teams the confidence that comes from having a single source of truth. When your ledger is synchronized with your actual bank accounts, you can build features faster, operate with greater confidence, and maintain the audit trails that regulators expect.
