Agent Wallet
An agent wallet is a funding and authorization surface dedicated to one software agent (or a tightly scoped agent fleet). It holds prepaid balance, virtual cards, or rail credentials, and enforces spend policy so the agent can pay without sharing the principal's primary banking credentials.
Why it Matters
Giving an agent a full corporate card or bank login couples failure modes: one compromised agent drains the whole treasury. Per-agent wallets isolate float, caps, and audit trails. They also make KYA and mandates enforceable at the balance layer—if the wallet is empty or the mandate expired, the payment cannot post.
Accounting-wise, each agent wallet maps to a sub-ledger or set of accounts under the principal. Top-ups, drawdowns, card authorizations, and x402 settlements become ordinary double-entry movements. That structure is what lets platforms reconcile agent spend to bank or chain reality without reconstructing history from chat logs.
